highlights:
Brooke Ligertwood (Fraser) writes some amazing music. I have to be honest; I’m not a huge fan of every song put out by Hillsong (surprise, surprise), but the songs that I tend to connect with most are usually stamped by Brooke. She is a really gifted songwriter that knows how to blend sound theology with melody (which is not easy).
We sang two songs written Brooke this past weekend; Our Father and Hosanna. Both were powerful. Our Father helped focus our hearts before the message. The words reminded us that we shouldn’t go to church just for friends or out of habit, but because we truly want God’s will to be done in our lives. As such, we want to be focused on what He has for us each service so that we can live for Him outside of the church walls. We closed the service with Hosanna, which according to my wife, was a wonderful way to follow PDK’s sermon about America’s role in the end times. I love the bridge of Hosanna.
Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like You have loved me
Break my heart for what breaks Yours
Everything I am for Your kingdom’s cause
As I walk from earth into eternity
It’s a constant prayer for me.
Lord, until I’m face to face with You, use all of me for Your will.
